Stumbled across your corner of the interwebs🙂 As a Japanese language student just about to head off on my year abroad for uni, it’s been inspirational seeing your progress. Will have to give your blog a thorough read, especially if you’ve mentioned your study materials! Always keen to hear how other people go about studying a language🙂

    Hallo Mickey,

So. Genug geoberlehrert (transform the Substantiv (Oberlehrer) into Verb).

I can’t wait to check out all the other videos before I leave for my time in Germany too. Where abouts in Germany were you? I have heard that the accent in South Germany is much different from that in the north

Wow thanks for your interest! I lived in the South in Radolfzell, and then later in Nordrhein-Westfalen, specifically Duisburg and Köln. The accents are definitely totally different wherever you go!

For sure! I will be studying at Freie Universitat Berlin and then living in Hamburg. I have not yet been to the South but noticed a difference in accents heard in the videos you have posted. I am moving there for 8-15 months with the intention of learning to speak German fluently. … its comforting to know it can be done.🙂

You’re gonna do great! Best of luck with the Studium, and don’t worry too much about the accents! Berlin and Hamburg are two of the coolest cities in the world!
